The Pantar Straight is a great place for scuba diving, and there are a number of dive companies in the area offering tours, especially on the beaches of Alor, where many visitors are happy to stay and simply soak up the sun for a few days.

Those who like to explore should take a boat trip to check out the picturesque islands of Kepa and Alor Kecil, where there are tranquil and clean beaches to relax on. Sit back on the sand and watch dolphins swim offshore and discover tiny tribal villages located in the jungle.

Travel to Alor Archipelago - Getting There

While those already exploring Indonesia may fly straight into the airport at Alor, international visitors will probably have to take a connecting flight from Ngurah Rai Airport, which is located near the city of Denpasar, Bali. Alor's main port is at Kalabahi, and from here visitors can take a ferry to many connecting areas in less than an hour.
