Yen Bai Province Travel Guide

Bording Son La, Phu Tho and Tuyen Quang provinces, Yen Bai province is situated among the hills and mountainous terrain of northwest Vietnam.

Famous for Van Yen cinnamon, the artificial Lake Thac Ba is a popular attraction and destination among visitors to the region. Yen Bai is considered an area of great historical importance and interest, as remnants of the Son Vi culture have been found throughout its Dong Cuong and Dai Cai temple areas.

The Mong Son grotto is equally as popular as it was the site of the Yen Bai Party Committee for the duration of the anti-American resistance movement. Approximately 180kms (112 miles) from Hanoi, Yen Bai City has daily train and bus departures to the capital.
