Tutong is a sizeable town near to the capital, Bandar Seri Begawan, and is the nearest major area of interest to the capital. It has nice beaches, several wildlife areas and Brunei's most colorful fish market.

The town is only a short drive from Bandar and is sandwiched between sea and river. There are plenty of tourist attractions including the beach, known as Unforgettable Beach, a large lake nearby, and a massive daily fish market.
Tutong town center also has a fair amount going for it, with cafés, fast food restaurants, bookshops, a supermarket, and several places to lay your head. Tutong is also easy to get to, being just 30 miles from Bandar Seri Begawan and connected directly by highway.
Travel to Tutong - Getting There
Tutong is about 30 miles from the capital, Bandar Seri Begawan, and is on the main Bandar to Seria highway. Brunei International Airport is a short distance from Bandar, from where buses run to Tutong within the hour, or you could take a taxi direct from the airport.

Seri Kenangan Beach Unforgettable Beach is a major draw point for Tutong and is good for swimming, fishing, and picnicking.
The old jetty head along the road through Kampong Kuala Tutong to pass through a beautiful forest of coconut palms before hitting the old jetty.
Tamu Tutong Kampong Serambungan this tamu (open market) features an array of locally-made handicrafts, along with fruit and vegetables.
Sungai Basong Recreational Park lying just north of town on the Muara-Tutong Highway, this park is good for relaxing and picnicking.
Tasek Merumbun this is Brunei's largest lake, which is just outside town and comes with good visitor facilities in the central island including pavilions and chalets. There is also a trail here for nature lovers.
Louis Mini Zoo this fine zoo is privately owned and features a good variety of animals and birds, including camels, snakes, monitor lizards, chimpanzees, and peacocks, and is great for kids.
