The beautiful Chico River runs through the area and provides fantastic opportunities for adventure activities such as rafting, kayaking and swimming. The water is so clean you can drink from the riverside. There are local guides who can escort you through the mountains where you can even camp out for the night.

The village of Tinglayen has little to offer tourists with just two guest houses and few eateries. The local food is nothing special with limited menu choices. You will find locals making handicrafts such as baskets, pots and wood pieces, which can be bought for a small price.

Travel to Tinglayen - Getting There

Being located just 40kms from Bontoc, there are buses and jeepneys traveling from Baguio, which has an airport with daily flights to Manila. Flight times from Manila to Baguio are around 45 minutes. Buses make to the journey from Baguio in around 2 hours. It is also possible to take a bus from Manila directly to Baguio although the trip takes between 9 and 11 hours.
