Romblon Town Travel Guide

Known comically as Romblon, on Romblon, in Romblon, this is the municipality capital of the province of the same name.

The picturesque historic town offers a beautiful view when coming in from the sea. Brightly colored buildings litter the windy streets of the town and the harbor is the main attraction with its brightly painted boracays moored in the calm water.

The historical fabric of the town’s history has remained pretty much intact and the cathedral is a major attraction in Romblon. From the port it is easy to spot San Andres Fort and there are literally hundreds of shops selling marble, with most of the town’s architecture giving the place an historic feel to it.

The buildings that line the old fashioned streets make Romblon a heritage treasure and you can spend hours looking around the cathedrals and churches alone. The town is hilly, with many of the roads slanting up and down, and hiring a bike is a great way to combat the steeper slopes.

Getting There & Away

Manila has the nearest international airport and offers four weekly flights between Romblon and the capital, with flight times of only 30 minutes. There are buses from Manila five times a week that take 3 hours to get to the coast, from where regular boat services can take you to Romblon.
