Lembang was a former retreat for the Dutch, who colonized the area. Visitors will still find a number of pretty Dutch buildings here and the Dutch influence even finds its way into the local cuisine, meaning that food lovers will have plenty of choice.

Lembang's close proximity to Bandung makes this a good place to visit on a daytrip. However, there is also plenty of accommodation here, making it possible to stay for a couple of days and fully explore the natural beauty of the region slowly.

Lembang has its own airport and is just a 3-hour flight from Jakarta, the country's main international gateway. The city is also just a short bus ride away from a number of towns and cities such as Bandung (20 minutes).
