Kuala Belait Travel Guide

Kuala Belait is situated on the southernmost tip of Brunei, along the South China Sea coastline. The district is the main point of the country’s gas and oil industry.

The city is the second largest in Brunei after Bandar Seri Begawan and is only 70kms from Tutong and approximately 120kms from Bandar. There are well-laid out motorways connecting the area with other parts of Brunei, making it an accessible and easy place to visit.

The main attraction of Kuala Belait is the petroleum industry’s stronghold, with landmarks and museums explaining the history of oil in the area. There are also some nearby recreational parks to enjoy lakes, hiking and cycling.

Getting There & Away

Kuala Belait is well connected by motorways to the rest of Brunei and there are numerous bus services and private taxis available. Alternatively, you can hire a car and self-drive. From the capital and international airport, the journey only takes approximately 1 hour.

Situated only a short drive from kuala belait, luagan lalak recreation park is a great place to visit with a lake and timber walkway that crosses the waterway.
