Kampong Thom Province Travel Guide

The highlight of Kampong Thom province in central Cambodia is its attractive provincial capital of the same name. Resting on the banks of the scenic Stung Saen river, the town is home to a number of interesting Buddhist temples.

Elsewhere in the province, ancient Angkorian sites and Tonle Sap Biosphere Reserve can be explored with a guide. The Tonle Sap lake provides fresh fish year round, while cashew farms are abundant, making this a good province to indulge in eating.

Getting here by bus is easy with national highways providing links with Phnom Penh and Siem Reap. Local transport is available, as are basic guesthouses.
