Huangguoshu Falls Travel Guide

Located on the Baihe River in Guizhou Province, the Huangguoshu Waterfall is one of the area’s most popular tourist attractions and people travel here from all over China and beyond.

Situated in a national park, the waterfall measures 255 feet in height, while the width is an impressive 330 feet. Just behind the waterfall’s cascade of water is a natural cave. A popular activity here is climbing into the cave for a spectacular viewpoint and the chance to touch the water as it plummets to the pool below.

Huangguoshu Waterfall National Park is a great place for hiking and there is plenty of wildlife to see such as monkeys swinging through the trees. This is also a good spot for a picnic and plenty of people come here to swim in the waterfall’s deep plunge pool.

Getting to Huangguoshu Waterfall is simple as there are regular buses from Anshun as well as plenty of taxis. The city of Anshun is a good place to use as a base as there are plenty of other tourist attractions located in and around the city as well as accommodation to suit all budgets.

Getting There & Away

Access is from the city of Anshun, which has its own domestic airport. There is a direct bus from Anshun to the entrance to Huangguoshu Waterfall National Park (25 minutes). Trains and buses also stop at Anshun from many towns and cities in China.
