Gutob Bay Travel Guide
Gutob Bay is a collection of islets located in Palawan, Philippines. It is growing in popularity with people from all over the world and becoming a firm favorite with scuba divers.
The water separating the islands is home to beautiful coral reefs, tropical fish and an abundance of sea life. The islands are still largely undeveloped and off the beaten track, which adds to their appeal. While there is not much in the way of modern conveniences, there is plenty to keep the avid outdoor adventurer occupied. Once here, you will find it hard to tear yourself away from the untamed beauty.
There is no accommodation on any of the islands, with the area’s seclusion and natural beauty fully intact - for now, anyway. The most popular islands include Calumbuyan, Malcatop, Black and Panlaitan.
Favorite activities include scuba diving, snorkeling and hiking. For those who aren’t so adventurous, sunbathing on the pristine beaches is a great way to spend the day. There are virtually no amenities on any of the islands so bring your own refreshments.
Getting There & Away
All of the islands in Gutob Bay are reachable by ferry from other islands in the region. The closest airport can be found in Puerto Princesa, which receives daily flights from Manila (1 hour).
