Situated in West Java, Gede Pangrango National Park is one of Indonesia's most popular parks boasting a wide range of natural features such as hot springs, waterfalls and dense forests.

Trivia
established in 1889, Gede Pangtango National Park is the oldest reserve in the whole of Indonesia, covering an impressive 150 square kilometers.

Trekking is a popular pastime in the park and there are a number of beautiful trails to choose from. Some take just over an hour to complete while others lead up the sides of the volcanoes, along ridges and through the forest, taking nearly a day to finish from end to end.

Gede Pangrango National Park offers visitors the chance to glimpse some of Indonesia's rarer animals such as the Javan Gibbon and Javan Hawk Eagle. Visitors can drop in at the Bodogol Conservation Education Center to learn more about the park's flora and fauna.

A great way to experience the natural beauty of Gede Pangrango National Park is to spend the night in a tent at one of the park's two campsites. Fall asleep listening to the sounds of natural and wake early to watch the sunrise and a range of birds and animals interacting with each other.

Travel to Gede Pangrango National Park - Getting There

Access is from Jakarta, where there is an international airport. There are buses from Jakarta to the park entrance (2 hours). However, it is easier to catch a bus from Jakarta to Bogor (2 hours) and arrange private transport there.
