Central Guizhou Travel Guide

Situated in southwestern China in Guizhou Province, Central Guizhou is surrounded by a number of natural beauty spots and is a good place to explore for those who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the big city.

Central Guizhou is famous for its vibrant ethnic festivals, which are held throughout the year. Especially interesting is the festival which is held in February to the east of Guizhou in Kaaili. This festival often lasts for several days and features fireworks, bullfighting, horse racing, pipe playing, and comedy shows. Other festivals feature singing and dancing and are accompanied by plenty of good food.

Making yourself understood in Central Guizhou can be rather difficult as not many people speak English here. However, those who speak Sichuan should be able to make themselves understood.

Those who plan to explore this area would do well to hire a guide or book a tour to make life easier. For those who prefer to travel independently, the roads are good and travel is easy, either by hiring a bicycle and simply using peddle power to explore or by using the local bus service.
