Safety: boasting a low crime rate and few political problems, Brunei is generally thought to be one of the safest countries in the world to visit. Crime: Brunei enjoys an extremely low crime rate due to a high level of economic prosperity throughout the country and harsh penalties for law breakers.

Diseases: Brunei is free from malaria but other tropical diseases such as dengue fever are a risk making it wise to wear insect repellant.

Terrorist activity: even though Brunei is mainly Islamic there are no known fundamentalist Islamic terror groups operating within the country.

Natural disasters: Brunei is very rarely affected by natural disasters such as typhoons and mudslides, even during the monsoon season. In addition, there is no recorded volcanic activity in the country.
