Ba Be National Park Travel Guide
Located in the northern Bac Kan Province close to the Chinese border, Ba Be National Park, also known as Ba Be Lakes, is a fine region of large mountains, gushing rivers and deep caves.

- Ba Be National Park received national park status in 1992 and is Vietnam's eighth national park.
Ba Be National Park is especially popular with those into solitude, boating, and particularly wildlife. There are something like 300 species of wildlife here, including 65 mammalian species and loads of birds. Ba Be National Park also has hundreds of named plant species and the only hunting allowed is for the Tay minority to fish for food.
There are digs in Ba Be National Park near the headquarters in a guesthouse and cottages, while visitors can also stay in a stilt house on the lakeshore in Pac Ngoi village.
Travel to Ba Be National Park - Getting There
The best way to get to Ba Be National Park is by private vehicle as the route is remote and difficult. From Hanoi, go via Bac Kan and Cho Ra, a six-hour drive and 250kms. By bus from Hanoi you need to go to Phu Thong (five hours) where another service goes to Cho Ra (one hour) and then by public transport from there. Hanoi's Noi Bai International Airport is the nearest major airport to Ba Be National Park.
